Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga: Plan the Darshan Before the Drive

Omkareshwar is on the Narmada River near Mandhata island. Most visitors combine it with Ujjain or travel from Indore. The right transfer timing makes a difference.

What to plan first

Confirm the current temple opening hours, entry rules and available darshan arrangements with the official temple administration. Allow time for the approach, footwear arrangements, the main shrine and rest breaks.

Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar

Many pilgrims visit both Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar. The second temple and any river activity need realistic time allowances. Boat rides are optional and depend on operating conditions.

For a group coming from Indore

Choose one clear meeting point, suitable transport and comfortable meal and restroom stops. Anyone flying out the same day should have a separate transfer plan and sufficient airport buffer.
